Robert Belgrad is a self-taught artist working in a wide variety of media and a diverse range of styles.
Since he began sculpting in 1989, his work has received several awards and has found a home in many private and public collections. Belgrad recently made his film debut when several of his works appeared prominently in the film, "John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars".
Several themes are recurrent in Belgrad's work, and among these, motion and balance are of primary focus. Belgrad's fascination with organic and geometric forms is visible throughout much of work, and he strives constantly to bring these two elements into harmony. The artist's love of diverse materials is apparent, and he constantly seeks to combine media in new and varied ways. Whether it is carved wood, cast metals or mixed media, the artist takes great care to insure his work is of the highest quality and no attention to detail is spared.
